Shadday Potkin - Page 2

In the days that followed, Shadday concluded that the Jedi could not simply fade from the galaxy. As the galaxy's protectors for a thousand generations, Shadday was not simply willing to step aside and let Emperor Palpatine and his new minion, Darth Vader, resurrect the Sith Order. Shadday put together a plan to call a number of Jedi survivors together and form a plan to confront the Sith. Unfortunately, Shadday's desperation may have caused her to be a little overzealous in her wish to rid the galaxy of Palpatine and Vader. Contemplating on where the Jedi Order went wrong, where they failed, and how they had let the situation deteriorate into the genocide of her people.

Jedi Potkin felt that the Jedi spent too much time on philosophy and meditation, too much time worrying whether or not their actions tread too close to the Dark Side. Shadday felt that such a focus on these issues had stagnated the Order and prevented them from any meaningful action. To counter this, Shadday's plan included a way to deal with Darth Vader directly. Allowing news of the meeting to spread to the upper echelons of the Empire, Shadday essentially planned to use herself and the Jedi as bait to draw out Darth Vader and confront him in a concentrated effort. She believed that Vader was no match for the eight Jedi he would face.

Of course, Shadday kept this part of the plan secret from the other invitees as they certainly would not have agreed with her course of action. Setting the meeting in the spice mines Kessel deep within an abandoned factory, Shadday invited Jedi Knights Bultar Swan, Koffi Arana, Roblio Darte, Sia-Lan Wezz, Ma'kis'shaalas, Jastus Farr, and Tsui Choi. As the meeting began, it quickly descended into what Shadday feared the most, a discussion on right and wrong, the Dark Side, and truth. However, the discussion did not last long as Shadday's last guest finally arrived. Vader burst into the room dark rage pouring from him and the battle commenced. The Jedi had no choice to fight Vader now as they were fighting for their own lives.

In preparation for the battle, Shadday prepared a sword made of cortosis ore in hopes of having an advantage over Vader. Cortosis ore had the unique property of being the only substance capable of shorting out a lightsaber and it was Shadday's weapon of choice against the Dark Lord. During the battle, the cortosis blade succeed in shorting out Vader's lightsaber; unfortunately Shadday underestimated Vader's power and when his blade failed, he simply took hers. Seizing her in mid-air, Vader wrapped his mechanical fist around her throat and wrested the sword from her. With a quick jerk of his wrist, Vader snapped Shadday's neck and the young Jedi was no more. That day, deep within the spice mines of Kessel, Darth Vader managed to slaughter eight Jedi Knights and Masters, news of which served to further Vader's reputation as a harbinger of doom.
